Who it's for
Who NetScope Engage is for
Engage works best when you want employee data and employee buy-in from the same tool. It suits three kinds of organisation in particular:
Employers reporting Scope 3
You need real commuting data (Category 7) instead of an estimate, and you want it collected once a year without chasing.
Teams building an ESG or net zero story
You want staff, customers and stakeholders taking part, not just reading a policy.
Venues, events and membership bodies
You want fans, attendees or members to measure and pledge as part of the day.
The platform
What's included
Engage runs in three simple steps for the individual, and gives you the data and the story behind them.
Measure
Seven lifestyle questions, answered in under two minutes, produce a personal footprint for the year. The calculation uses GHG Protocol-approved conversion factors, and the survey can be tailored to your organisation.
Reduce
Each person gets personalised actions with a measurable annual carbon saving, and can commit to the pledges that fit their life — up to 20 to choose from.
Share
Everyone gets a co-branded Climate Action Page to show their commitment, plus an Engaged badge. Run internal leagues or incentives to turn individual pledges into collective momentum.
What you get as the organisation
- Commuting emissions for Scope 3: detailed input data for Category 7, ready to carry into your carbon report.
- A co-branded platform: your brand on the survey, the Climate Action Page and the badge.
- Aggregate impact: individual actions rolled up into a number you can show the board and your customers.
Common pitfalls
Where employee engagement usually falls down
- Commuting emissions are estimated from headcount, not asked — so the Scope 3 Category 7 figure is weak and hard to defend.
- The survey is too long, so hardly anyone finishes it.
- It runs as a one-off campaign with no follow-through, and interest fades in a fortnight.
- Data gets collected but never makes it into the carbon report.
- There's no way to show people the collective difference they've made, so the effort feels pointless.

What our clients say
We engaged NetZero Group to support the delivery of our Sustainability Strategy and in addition to offsetting our operational Scope 1 & 2 emissions we have deployed [NetScope Engage] to report on the Scope 3, category 7 commuting emissions. We've had a really positive engagement with staff with over 70% of team members interacting with the tool. Mark and the team have been incredibly supportive and we are very excited about the future working with NetZero Group.
