Which companies have to comply with SECR?

The SECR scheme applies to all quoted companies and all large limited liability partnerships (LLPs). Large unquoted companies must also comply, these are companies that meet two of the following criteria:

More than 250 employees
Over £36 million annual turnover 
Balance sheet total of £18 million or more

What needs to be included in your Streamlined Energy and Carbon Report?

To adhere to the SECR policy, companies must report:

Direct Scope 1 carbon emissions and energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh) 
Scope 2 carbon emissions and energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh) 
Scope 3 emissions related to business travel using personal vehicles (grey fleet) and energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh)  
Completed and planned energy efficiency measures taken by the company
